Make sure you are reading Amendment 1 to IPC-600, which updated the measling section.  The main differentiators between measling and crazing are how they occur, and where they occur.  Measling is separation between overlapping fiber bundles and is thermally induced, and is separation only at fiber bundle intersections.  Crazing is separation of the fibers within a bundle, is mechanically induced, and can occur at fiber bundle intersections or along the fibers themselves.

Hi Technetters,

 From IPC-600, it mentions measling & Crazing. However, from the
pictures show, it is rather hard to really differentiate them clearly.
Is there better way or picture to differentiate these defect clearer.

Will measling aggravate to become crazing ?

Will manual soldering or reflow soldering caused the board to have
measling / crazing.

Please help.
