Well, I'm up this morning drinking some coffee before I get ready to go get
my new, new drivers license. I'm more pissed at myself for leaving my wallet
sitting on top of the coin change machine than anything else. How could have
I been so careless! I'm thinking that I should get one of those biker
wallets that they wear chained to their belts. But I think this experience
will be enough to teach me not to do what I did ever again.

This is not the first time I've had something stolen from me. I had a Yamaha
RD400 when I was in Navy stationed at Point Mugu with an exploded motor that
I rebuilt that was stolen just after I put it back together. I loved that
little bike. It was a hornet that would smoke most 750cc 4-strokes. Then
after that happened, my apartment was broken into, again while I was
stationed at Point Mugu (I lived off-base then), and all that was taken was
most of my clothes (including my Navy uniforms), a jar that had some change
in it, and a cheap little stereo system. Then after I got out of the Navy, I
bought my first brand new motorcycle, a Suzuki Katana. It was stolen right
from the parking lot at my first civilian job in the electronics industry. I
hadn't even made my first payment on my new bike!

I just hate when something gets stolen from me. You feel so violated. I work
hard for what little I have, and it really pisses me off to have it taken
from me.

I know you're right Inge, most people are just like you and I. If I ever
spotted a wallet laying by itself, I would be doing what I could to find
whoever it belonged to, and if that wasn't sucessful, make sure it was kept
someplace safe until it's owner was found. But there are some people that
don't think like you and I. I just wish I didn't run across them so often...

Steve
