Hi Mike,

Wow what a shocker! I'm saddened to hear of his passing. While we had not
spoken in a number of years I always thought a lot of Carl and enjoyed
working with him from time to time, he truly will be missed.

I am curious how someone dies from knee surgery. My wife had knee surgery
and had complications that left here somewhat crippled but nothing life
threatening, very strange.

Thanks again for letting us know.

Best regards,

Ken Bloomquist

Subject: [TN] Dr. Carl Tautscher

Posted on behalf of Michael Barmuta;

Sadly Dr. Carl Tautscher passed away on July 20th 2009. It was unexpected
and the result of complications from a knee surgery.

Carl was active in the Electronics Industry for over 40 years. He was a
consultant and held various engineering positions in private industry. He
authored two technical reference books and numerous articles. They dealt
primarily with Fluxing, Soldering, Cleaning and Coating. He was well
respected in the industry and will be missed.

There is a shared website for comments or viewing at

Carl and I were very good friends, neighbors and working colleagues over the
last 35 years, right up to the time of his death. Please feel free to use my
name and/or email; there may be industry friends that would like additional
information.

Best Regards

Michael Barmuta
