Okay Techies,
My turn!
No this is not a Friday thingy. This is serious! I have [had] a nice
Tektronix TDS 744A Digitizing O-Scope that just took a dump on me.
It is obsolete, and Tek no longer services [.... but would do so on a best
effort basis]. Unfortunately, times are tough and money is even tighter for
us underemployed types.
I have no schematic ... but upon internal examination what Tek calls the Low
Voltage Supply, has apparently toasted. Classic example of a smoked PEM
device! Pffft + smoke + stink = hole in mold compound.
Naturally, the toasting event took out the last digit/s of the device part
number [FEC 2SK101?] so it could be anything from 2SK1010-2SK1019 [assuming
they are all valid]. I've done some searching and have determined that at
least the 2SK1010 is a 500V N-Ch FET. Can not seem to dig up a great deal
of additional info
1 - Does anyone have a schematic for a Tektronix TDS 744A?? Have a
'special' site to look??
2 - Does anyone have an 'in' with FEC so that I can get data sheets on the
range of devices and make a best case guess of what it may have been?
2SK1010-2SK1019 The adjacent device is a 2SK1018 ...
3 - Does anyone have an old Tek TDS 744A they wish to get rid of? [Cheaply -
I pay freight]
4 - Anyone have a super cross-reference site to recommend?
Admittedly have not checked the used equipment sites yet. Nor have I fully
exhausted all search efforts and cross-reference checks yet, but I know
there is a wealth of info in this group so I thought I would send out a
query.
