This is doable, but with caution. Some etching will be required which unless performed carefully can lead to copper voids in the barrels.

Best regards

Subject: [TN] Re-apply Immersion Silver Plating

  Dear Technetters

We have boards with ImmAg finish that were sitting in the warehouse
  for about 18 months.

Assembly process is LF reflow soldering

We doubt the quality of the plating and do not want to assemble test
boards for many reasons, ( board price, component shortage etc)

The PWB manufacture suggests recoating the boards with the same plating.

Are there any known limitations to this process such as entrapped
  contaminants in via holes

Has anyone experienced this procedure and can share his/her knowledge on
  this subject.

Any special tests that should be preformed after the plating process?

  Thanks

  Mickey
