If Kester do not help you, Indium will. They have an excellent support for
solder preforms.
(Have you tried stencil printing the solder instead of using preforms. We
try to avoid preforms because it's an extra manufacturing step. Of course
printing won't work everywhere.)

The shape of the pre-form depends on products and usage. We provide them

The reply I got was "we don't do any design work. We just manufacture

Anybody out there using preforms? how did you go about designing
one?....did the manufacturer help at all? (in other words, am I
expecting too much out of Kester?)
