Thank you all, for the comments, and I do agree with the consensus, but I guess I just wanted to state my annoyance with this (albeit minor in comparison to the benefit) problem.   Ultimately, there is no way to verify how or where spammers get your email, but I made a guess that the most likely way for some of the industry related (Chinese contract manufacturer, for example) email must come from someplace related, such as Technet.  It is entirely possible they also get them from some other source, such as some of the industry periodicals I also subscribe to.  I was also curious to see if others from Technet were experiencing the same thing as me.

While I highly value the all-inclusive nature of this forum, it is perhaps an exploitable feature as well.  I continuously receive emails from people offering services with whom I have had no previous interactions, and I often assume (perhaps incorrectly?) that our contact information and email addresses are being mined from the forum by those who join simply to generate contact lists.  Would limiting Technet membership to those from domains whose companies are IPC members, or requiring entering of an IPC membership number to register destroy the all-inclusive nature, or improve the quality?

Does anyone else share these observations?  Thoughts?
