I'm betting on competition driving down prices.
Aye, but a different problem than that which RoHS wrought.
(feeling a bit lyrical today!)
My company sells B2B. YOu can bet those business customers of ours don't
buy new every year to get the shiny new product.
Not every housewife wants a new washer every 3 years.
I see forcing obsolesence in the name of environmental improvement an easily
avoidable technological travesty.
Rampant consumerism, OTOH, is a bigger and more difficult moral issue.
This "terrible recession" (apologies to those out of work) hasn't seemed to
slow it down much.
