Do you have a reference for Werner's paper?

Hello, Harris,
You are correct that the customer (or circuit interface design engineer)
should provide the specific slash sheet describing the desired laminate
properties from IPC 4101B, as well as a description of the surface
finish as specified in IPC 4552, 4553, etc. Werner Engelmaier has an
excellent White Paper that includes everything that should be on a given
PWB drawing.

Subject: [TN] What does HIGH GRADE FR-4 mean?

Hi All,

Can anyone define High Grade FR-4?

I think it's a vague requirement that I see on customer drawing. Is this
something that should be obsolete now because today customer should
really provide the properties of the laminate that they want to use...
eg Tg, Td, Dk.

Can anyone shed some light?

Thanks,
Harris
