Doug,
My guy in Apple isn't quite sure either.  Hirose supplies connectors to
the computing group, but not consumer.  We think that Foxconn is the
most likely suspect.
If you do not need to intermate, Hirose makes some very good
alternatives.  If you absolutely must intermate with the iPod port, the
most likely other possibilities may be DDK or JAE.

Good afternoon all,

I am in need of your assistance in determining the maker and part number

of a commercial connector.  Steve Gregory has been kind enough to post 
pictures of the connector on his web site.  Here are the links.

I know that this connector is used on the Apple iTouch and iPhone, but
do 
not know the connector manufacturer or part number.   Yes, Apple was 
contacted but in a comedy of merry-go-round phone transfers, the concept

of "hardware" is not widely known by anyone on the phone.  Scary.

Anyway, if you can let me know the manufacturer and part number, I would

appreciate it.
