The best thing to do is to get a better price from your recyler on solder paste since by weight it is all virgin solder.

It should not be be priced as solder dross by weight for the obvious reason.

If you had the EVS solder recovery system then you could have the flux burned off in that system and return all that virgin solder to the wave, in ingots. These systems are offered with various filter systems and both can be portable so select an area that  best suits your factory.

Hi Kenny
I tried that - once!  Biggest issue for us was the huge cloud of fumes
from the flux burning off - totally swamped the venting system on the
wave machine.

Subject: [TN] Solder Paste In the Solder Pot

I have what I hope is a generic question without getting into too many
details.

IF the flux in the solder paste and the flux in the wave solder are
compatible and they are both 63/37, can unused, expired shelf life,
solder paste be dumped into the wave solder pot?

Thanks,

KennyB
