It is those damn details that get you.... :-)
Gamma Butyrolactone is a bit challenging to get hold of since it was found to be the "Date Rape Drug"....
Details details.

From Wikipedia:

"Acetone, which is commonly found in nail polish remover, is a widely available solvent capable of softening cured cyanoacrylate. Nitromethane is also an excellent solvent. Methylene chloride is the most effective solvent, but is toxic. Gamma-butyrolactone is also effective at removing cured cyanoacrylate, and has low toxicity."

Subject: [TN] Solvent for cured cyanoacrylate adhesive

Mornin' all,

I have a question for the chemists out there about the solvent used to
clean-up cured cyanoacrylate adhesives. Loctite sells a solvent called
768 X-NMS Solvent that works pretty well, but it is expensive. Anywhere
from $20.00 to $37.00 for a little 1.75 ounce bottle depending on where
you buy it.

I do know that it is composed mainly of nitromethane with a little bit
of toluene according to the MSDS. My question is; I can get a gallon of
nitromethane at a high-performance auto parts store store nearby for
$50.00 a gallon, would pure nitromethane do the job? Or do I need to add
the toluene as well?

The MSDS gives a range of percentages of both components, but is kind of
vague:

I'm just trying to save a little money is all...
