True, of course. But the discussion was started to ask what shall
future "shalls" require. Most of the current requirements are just carried
over from the days of - what was that stuff called? - oh, paper. If the IPC
wants to write a standard that is relevant moving forward, it's time to not just
do what we've always done and examine the best way using new tools.
I can say with certainty (since we're already using it) that if the new IPC
standard requires explcit ECN history on a drawing rather than a reference to
complete database information, we will ignore the standard. We have a
business to run.
