Lead shot is banned in the UK for fishing weights and has been for many 
years because of it's effect on wildfowl who end up eating it. I don't 
know what it changed to but it wasn't depleted uranium as far as I can tell.

I'm not sure what the situation is regarding buckshot in shotgun 
cartridges though.
