Are you talking about the built in protection that generally comes with
your
system and custom parameters or the live one care? In any event windows
would tell you to download their antivirus in a popup window. If they
wanted
their software robust they never would have released Vista or ME. If you
want robust run unix.

Hi,

You Wrote: Windows currently has no anti virus software.

Actually Windows has very good antivirus and system protection logic.

I run a number of machines using common sense and Windows built in
protection. The only PCs that I see as messed up are those running 3rd
party
programs like Norton.

Ask Yourself:

1 What company has more to gain by seeing a robust OS? Microsoft

2 What company understand the internals of Windows best? Microsoft

3 What company has more money to send on software? Microsoft

So, I am open to ideas here, but would you not expect Microsoft to have
made darn sure Windows is robust? (An I find it very robust.)

Yes Windows Anti-xxx is a hoax, do not click on the link. Windows
currently
has no anti virus software. Download windows defender, you can get it at
the
Microsoft website install it and run it
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/defender/default.msp
x .
Also with RegCure it cleans the registry. If you have adaware running or
a
virus it will not find it and remove it.As soon as you restart the
computer
it will find it again and rewrite to the registry. You have to find the
program and kill it. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/malware-removal/
here
is a good site that will help you out for free. It will take you longer
to
get if fixed if they are backed up because you have to post in a forum.
I
use RegCure without any problems.

Hi all,
Anyone having experience from RegCure? It's a software that scans DLLs,
Window items, program shortcuts, Registry keys, file associations etc.
I
don't know what to think about it. When you depress scan, RegCure runs
through it all and presents a list of 'problems', then asks if you want
to
fix them. OK, I select 'fix it' and RegCure does that. However, if I
scan
immediately once again, there are still 4 problems here and 19 there. I
depress 'fix it' and selects new scan again. RegCure again presents a
list
of problems to fix. How can that be when I have done nothing? I've
tried
other and similar programs, and they seem to work the same. Not to
mention
anti-spy programs and anti-trojan programs and such like. They are
constantly warning for something. I have a expensive anti-virus program
installed, but despite that, warnings are steadily coming up with
blinking
red and dialog boxes recommending me to downloading Windows Anti-xxx
program

immediately to fix the alert situation. Are they a hoax? Can't help I'm
a
little suspicios. Whom can you rely upon?
