Hello everyone,

I would like to get some input from the members of this forum about a few
things.

RoHS II:
We received today an email from Symphony Consulting talking about RoHS II
and their opinion on where the market is going with this. The first point
they are talking about is as follow:

-----------------------------------------------
RoHS will no longer be a label-free self-declaration model and companies
will be required to declare conformity (backed up by documentation) as part
of the CE marking label. That means that due diligence will take on a whole
new dimension in which collecting certificates from suppliers alone will not
suffice. Your due diligence must now provide evidence of on-going
compliance and differentiate between components and suppliers based on
varying levels of risk. The implications are that RoHS will need to be
integrated into your business processes more with an ISO type mindset rather
than a one-time event.
-----------------------------------------------

Does anyone have information about this?

Are there any documents released that are explaining that or there is
nothing official yet?

RoHS 5/6:
We know that the exemption for lead in solder for the telecommunication
industry will be expired in 2010 but when exactly in 2010?

Are there plans to extend this exemption?

Thanks for your feedback!

David Harrison
