The 2010 date for the original exemption for Pb solder in servers etc was 
indeed removed in a 2005 amendment. But that does not mean you can 
assume this will be granted in perpetuity. The Directive requires a review of all 
exemptions every 4 years, hence it was merely a simplification fo the text 
since all the exemptions were effectively only good until the next review.


And note the current "ROHS2" proposals are still just that and only that. Any 
of the current exemptions COULD be removed or extended at this review and 
at the end of each 4 year cycle. It does seem highly likely that the inclusion of 
category 8 and 9 (medical and monitoring/control) with some specific 
application exemptions will happen though IMO.
