As per my promise, here are the results of my survey.
Sixteen "real" responses - 4 Canadian, 12 American (I am presuming the
latter domicile, since the answers were in mph).
Not rounding, the minimum reported was 3.1 mph (Canuck site, posted at 5
kph, Yikes! Talk about slow as molasses going up hill in winter.)
Maximum reported was 25 mph (Indianapolis 500, here we come! Poor
pedestrians.)
Average was 11.9 +/- 5.5 mph.
Rounding to the nearest 5 mph, the histogram is:
