Phil, a couple of weeks ago, there was a show on Discovery (I think)
about the manufacture of airbags and their propulsion devices.  The

My son is involved with an "invent team" at Rockport High School in
Rockport Massachusetts.  They have a prototype design that was accepted
at MIT last year and they are trying to refine the design for launching
a small 3 pound piece of emergency electronics.  Several ideas have been
looked at for launching power, but each has some drawback.  An
automotive airbag "detonator" or launch pressure generator might be a
good choice.  Can any of you direct me to someone that might be able to
assist in discussing this concept?
