Steve,

You didn't have to call yourself a packrat. We already know you're an
engineer! I guess that leads to the question, do packrats become engineers
or does engineering school create packrats? Forget about chickens and eggs,
this one has truly cosmic implications!

Subject: [TN] Free Loctite 271

Hi All!

We build a board here that has a connector that has a kit of jackscrews
that comes with a little tube of Loctite 271. Our customer doesn't want
us to use the 271 and has picked out something else.

Me, being the packrat that I am, who never wants to throw anything away,
told my lead in our slide area to just save these tubes instead of
throwing them away. Now I have hundreds and hundreds of these little
.017-fluid ounce applicators of Loctite 271.

They are free to anyone who gives me their address and a UPS number (or
some other shipping instructions).

Loctite 271 is a very strong threadlocker meant to be pretty much
permanent. You can disassemble something that has been assembled with
271, but you have to heat the nut or bolt up around 250 C. to break it
loose...tough stuff.

Steve
