I'm just looking into the conformal coating process.
I was thinking that  if we purchased a good automated spray flux system like USI that we could measure the board thickness before and then after. As long as we were higher than the IPC or customer specified minimums we should be fine. This is the first I've heard about eddy current testing.
If your relying on an operator with a car type spray gun then maybe you would need some other test system.
