Polyimides are notoriously unstable to strong alkali, so, in theory, painting on conc. Sodium Hydroxide (lye) should strip, if you can tolerate that sort of chemistry in your system.

To remove polyimide insulation from 38 gage magnet wire, we've been

chemical stripper (Lonco 504 paste), which is going obsolete.

I saw something in the archives about Insulstrip Jell from Ambion, does
