 Hi Jack,
There may not be any standard, but it is prudent to consider the possible damage to the component during bending as well as perhaps SJ reliability.

We are trying to put a larger axial part in a smaller through-hole
footprint.
The body of the NEW part is ALMOST as long as the hole spacing.

Is there any requirement for how much room is needed for lead bend?
(IPC-A-610 doesn't address this, unless I missed it)
