I agree that unions are not the whole problem, but they are a part of
it. 

Neither Toyota or Honda plants in the US are unionized, even though the
UAW has tried for years to get their foot in the door. Employees have
told the UAW thanks, but no thanks in no uncertain terms. 

All auto manufacturers are taking a hit right now because of the
economy, but the US employees at companies like Toyota and Honda are in
a lot better position than the people working for the big three...

The UAW is only one part of a huge, complex, multi-part problem.
Selling large, inefficient vehicles to north American consumers, poor
top management and a weak world economy are other parts, and still not
the whole problem.
