Victor,
We also use a lot of these filter caps.
I am not sure about the IPC but I do think the end terminations are to small.
It looks like ~50% of the end termination is solderable, so you may have some issues like reliability and definitely self centering (as your photos show).
I would definitely recommend a larger pad, equal to or slightly larger (~10%) than the end termination of the part.
You might be Ok with as designed but I would not want to bet on it without reliabilties but in.
Werner or some others could probably tell you if the solder joint is enough to have the warm and fuzzy.
Sorry not to have more,
FNK

Hi Victor,

Sorry for not getting your pictures posted sooner. I've been busy with a
fire here...

Anyways, got your pics up now:

I'm not an electrical engineer, but I do know that they are filter
capacitors used to help with EMI. We place a lot of them on quite a few
assemblies.

Fellow TechNetters:

I have a ceramic component, capacitor, with four solder joint
terminations. My main concern is the component body size to copper pad
ratio. Do they violate IPC standards? I sent Steve G. some photos to
upload to his web page.

Victor,
