The Democratic (in name only) Republic of Congo and Zanbia (both in continually unstable Africa) are the places we get most of the cobalt that is needed for lithium batteries used not only in PCs but in most hybrid automobiles. Lithium is another element that is found in only a few places in high concentrations in the world, Bolivia having 50% of the world's reserves.
