Let me be the first to say... "it depends".  Sorry Mr. Pauls.

What is the application, temperature of use, is it purely mechanical or is there some electrical isolation required?

Hello all,
Hopefully a quick question regarding the hardware installation spec.
I have reviewed 4.1.3 in the IPC-A-610.
I do not see any mention of what material the flat washer may be made
of, in the hardware sequences pictured.
Must a flat washer always be metal?  Or are other materials, such as
Mylar acceptable?
