No, but you can say you used it by oxidant.

Increased RH in the printer the engineers say causes rust; and so I
guess
their argument is that an increase in RH in the workshop and hence the
printer will er hmmmm....um "avoid rust????????"

I would ask the engineers to verify that claim, and also ascertain
whether
the printer is actually made of anything that is in fact
rustable........new
word??

I haven't noticed an escalation of rejects at our printing process due
to seasonal changes, either in temp or RH. Our facility maintains a
temp of 69 to 73 degree, and each of our printers has its own
temperature control unit.

My process engineers tell me that printer manufacturers don't offer RH
control units for fear of inducing rust, so the 500K I mentioned below
is to outfit the entire electronics manufacturing area.

I'm well aware of the benefits of ESD in conjunction with increased
humidity. I assume, however, that increased humidity would have an
opposite and detrimental effect with MSDs.

Have any studies been conducted with printing at varied RH settings of
which you might be aware? I haven't been able to find anything on my
own.

Thanks again,

Leland

Subject: [TN] Controlled RH% Versus Screenprinting Results

Technetters,

A couple of folks in our firm are investigating several different brands
of humidification systems for possible installation at our facility.
These things aren't cheap, and can run close to 500K.

We see seasonal variation within our building of 15-20% in the winter
months, and may go as high as 55-60% in the summer.

Our paste manufacturer states their optimum printing parameter to be
50-60% RH. Our process engineers think we'll see a vast improvement in
our screenprinting process if we pursue this project.

I'm trying to understand if this is really going to reap the rewards as
anticipated.

Does anyone have any prior experience(s) they might share?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Leland
