Thanks Phil but no luck with the industrial Sharpie. That's what we are
currently trying to use and it washes right off with IPA.

I did some searching on the web and made a few phone calls. What it's
sounding like is that thanks to all the "do gooders" they have had to change
the formulas in the paint pens to where they don't dry very fast. I guess
too many kids were sucking the trichlor out of them ;-)

I did find one company that is sending me a sample of the Sharpie Paint pen.
I'll update this post once I get it and put it through its paces.

Sharpie makes an "Industrial" version that I have used.  It is claimed to
stay on even through 500° F steam and most solvents.  An alternative is some
of the paint pens.  The brand escapes me right now, but there are at least
two major name manufacturers that make a pen with paint or epoxy ink.
