Pre-tinning the 0 awg, and then using a hotplate and a Metcal are what I 
used to solder my 0 awg to the copper lugs for a 240 volt 50 amp power 
connection.

I contemplated the blowtorch path, however I had plenty of patience and 
only had to make four connections.

It was forming the wire that was the hardest part.
