seems like the body is made of glass fiber, not welded aluminum, as I
thought first. A better and safer solution would be carbon composite....less
damage when crashing.

One of the guys I work with is big into model planes. He said he knew the
guy that built it and it is the second one he lost. I guess he was trying to
pull off some acrobatics and the wings could take the pressure. Funny thing
is he tried to do the same maneuver he did with the first plane that broke
up, it had the same failure.
