Humiseal 1B31 is a single part, solvented acrylic coating, which "dries"
(solvent evaporation) fully in about 1-7 days at room temperature,
depending. Solvented acrylic coatings are very popular and widely used,
in my experience.

In general terms, you will get more robust protection from a coating
which fully cross-links, and this often means adding external energy
(heat or light, etc).

Selection of the optimal coating depends on a number of factors,
including operating temperatures and working environments, customer
specifications, electrical characteristics, reworkability and even
production volumes and required process speed. No one coating is
necessarily better than another; horses for courses.

Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

Can you compare it with the 1B31?

Subject: Re: [TN] NEW! DUAL-CURET 9481 ELECTRONIC CONFORMAL COATING

DYMAX 9481 is a single part acrylated urethane conformal coating. It has
a secondary moisture cure mechanism (a bit like the cure mechanism of a
single part RTV silicone) for those areas which are in shadow to light.
The primary cure mechanism is still UV/visible light.

Traditional UV acrylic conformal coatings had a secondary thermal cure,
so that's what makes this product new - if a secondary cure is required,
there is no need to add heat, the moisture cure just happens over time.

There are similar products from other vendors. This type of chemistry is
a valid choice to evaluate for your coating requirements, but much
depends on board geometry, application methods, requirements of cured
material, etc.

Peter

Subject: [TN] NEW! DUAL-CURE(tm) 9481 ELECTRONIC CONFORMAL COATING

 Hi Technetters,

Can anyone give me some information on this new Dynmax material? Has
anyone used it? How does it compare to other UV materials that are out
on the market today?

Thank you,

?LeighAnn Litavis
