Nicely done, Jack! Over the years, part of my design reponsibilites has been
to work closely with our fabricators. What we developed together for a
CAD/CAM interface matches your article pretty completely. I'm glad to see
someone else's research support what we're doing.
You brought up one point that I hadn't considered. We've allowed NFP
removal, but I never bothered taking them out of our CAD data. Feeling guilty
about my laziness, it was on my to do list. I never considered I was actually
being helpful - that's it, helpful, not lazy! I meant to do that!
Let me know when and where that's published. We have some very
inexperienced designers in Europe and Asia who may not even realize their
CAD isn't useable in raw form. I think they should read this!
