No problem I was just revisiting the original question and his wish to move
away from HASL to gold. As you suggest silver if flat and if produced
correctly does provided very good solderability.
Its just the case that many people only remember the bad of HASL and not the
good of yesterday and the improvements of the last couple of years with LF
HASL.
As many people quote nothing solders like solder.

There have been many comments on this subject but few asking why move
away from HASL or do you not want to use tin/lead or lead-free HASL?
There are lots of high end users that have found good PCB shops who are
able to provide a good repeatable surface finish. Its key to work with
your supplier and lead-free works well for solderability and assembly
yields.
