IF you are cleaning a solvent (resin) based flux you will be using a
chemical in the first wash stage. This chemical makes the flux water
washable, you then water rinse as required. Final rinse should be DI so as
to leave no conductives on work.
If you switch to a water washable flux, you dispense with the first stage
chemical, everything else stays same.

Subject: [TN] De-ionised water wash

We have been asked to look at replacing our water wash cycle in our lead
free assembly process with a de-ionised wash.
I thought de-ionised wash had become redundant with water soluable fluges.
Deos anyone have any recomendations ?

Regards
Richard
