Just an odd thought - could your cracking issue be MSD caused? We have
seen some ceramic bodied parts marked at a much higher moisture
sensitivity level then expected and had issues with them cracking in
reflow. The result looked like delamination of the layers.

And that is exactly what I did. There are two spaces in the link

Hi TechNeters,

I came across an unusual (at least to me) failure mode of ceramic caps.
They crack along the component body in either normal (from top all the
way through to the bottom), or parallel (from one side all the way
through to the other side) direction to the board the caps are mounted
on.

Has anyone seen something similar?
