Its a CGI simulation of what magnetic fields could look, which NASA said was
quite nice. Then, as commonly happens on the web it got bigged up into the
story as reported which then gets re-reported by people who ought to know
better and then sent on in good faith and ..... here we are . This link
seems to be the start:

anyone who has a little about Tesla's findings from school knows how the
magnetic field declines with the distance from the source. Some centimeters
from a wire with some amperes (like in the movie), you measure microTesla,
and at even longer a distance you speak about fields so weak, that you need
extremely sensitive and sofisticated instruments.
And it seems as the experiments are performed in a ordinary office
environment, and not in a instrument crowded lab. I would like to see same
NASA group taking 'magnetic field photos' on the leakage from a MRS or along
a VLSA. I doubt too.
But it's funny.

I am sorry but I am skeptical about that video.

At this point I would stick with iron fillings.

* NASA figured out how to photograph magnetic fields.
(better than iron filings, right?)

Check out the video, too....
