Verify thickness of pcb is correct and surface finish is flat tin plating
has been a good fit for us and of course hard gold. Some people have been
using solder which allows the very small pins to dig into the metal but
causes other mechanical failures.

I am curious what methods people are using to error-proof ZIF connections.
In 
spite o fall of our efforts, ZIF connectors are our #1 problem. The biggest 
issue is insuring the locking tabs are engaged.
