EU Commission Asks For Your Feedback During Development of its RoHS Revision Impact Assessment

BIO Intelligence Service has been contracted by the European Commission to carry out a project to support the RoHS Directive review and notably the impact assessment. One of the issues that the consultant is looking at is the potential economic impact of the RoHS policy options presented in the 2nd Consultation Document<http://ec.europa.eu/environment/waste/weee/pdf/2nd_consultation.pdf>. Specifically, the consultant is requesting your input on the expected decrease in RoHS administrative burden if certain policy options were adopted.

The consultant has developed a short questionnaire to gather quantitative information from RoHS-impacted companies. Your feedback is requested on proposed administrative burden-reducing RoHS options such as harmonization of market surveillance, introduction of standard format and validity period for exemptions, and separation of WEEE from the RoHS scope.

You can access the questionnaire by following this link<http://www.ipc.org/3.0_Industry/3.4_EHS/2008/BIO_RoHS_AdminCostsCEfinal2.doc>. Your replies to the questionnaire are due by Friday, June 20th to Ms. Cecile des Abbayes at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> or by fax +33 1 45 15 60 00. Don't miss your opportunity to ensure that the impact assessment accurately reflects the significant burden faced by companies subject to RoHS.
