And just to confuse people, they created what should have been called
Allegro Lite and marketed it as "OrCAD".  At the same time they were
still selling the original OrCAD Layout under very subtly different
names.  

It seems like they made a business decision to buy OrCAD and use it
primarily to slap its name on some of their products.  It was probably
justified by the idea that OrCAD had a valuable brand in the
middle-range and they could use that brand value on their own
middle-range tools.  

This makes no sense to me because the whole idea of a brand, as I
understand it, is that you know what you're getting.
