Well, your options are to note the part package itself, on the print, or in
your inventory system part number/description. Putting this information on
the print is nice but seems disconnected from the parts themselves. The
process has to start in receiving to make sure the sources parts are
purchased from are sending them properly identified and protected prior to
your use. In case, the parts are not packaged appropriately you would want
to bake them or reject them. I have received parts from various sources some
packaged correctly and some were not. With the potential of improper
packaging from varied sources I found this process had to start at the point
of receipt. We used an identification on the part number so that all
operators throughout the process could identify these parts.

How do you plan on approaching time tracking of the package being opened and
repacking when you are done or the parts exceed their time limits?

Kat

Subject: [TN] Moisture sensitive componentes & manufacturing documentation

Good morning ALL from Spain.

We are starting to use moisture sensitive components in our boards (class
3).

It is clear that these components shall be handled iaw J-STD-033, but we
have a concern: how to point out in the manufacturing documentation that
there are moisture sensitive components in the PWA. This information is
essential to the process engineering people to prepare the manufacturing
instruction sheets.

In a first approach, we have thought to introduce a warning note in the
drawing, but we are not sure if it is a standard practice.

If you can send your comments, I’ll appreciate it a lot.

Muchas gracias.
