Hi Ioan!

We use Techspray (the light blue stuff) here, and don't have any
problems. We even mask boards on Friday, leave them set over the
weekend, then wave them Monday, and they clean fine for us. We have a
Technical Devices In-line cleaner running deionized water at about 150
F., at a belt speed of around 4 fpm, and haven't had any problems.
There's even been a few occasions that boards have been accidently left
in a 180 F. oven (meant to speed the cure of the mask) over the weekend
and they have still cleaned fine after wave.

Subject: [TN] Water soluble masking

Dear Technos,

I am testing WS solder masking substances and what I see is that they
wash perfectly if relatively fresh (barely cured or after a couple of
hours on the board) and they wash very poorly if passed in the in-line
machine 24 or 48 hours after the application.

Is this natural? What is your experience?

Chemtronics have a note on the bottle requesting washing within 48
hours, nothing marked on the Techspray bottle, but both are very
difficult to remove after 24 hours.

Thanks,

Ioan
