Ioan,
Well at least there are no fully fluorinated materials. The two HFC have global warming potentials, but I don't have the numbers on me. (am in a meeting. :) ). You will have to decide how big a GWP you are comfortable with.

Methanol is of course flammable and has a significant TLV - thus explaining blindness and death for those that drink it.

The race car guys can tell you about the nitromethane.

Make sure this stuff is used with adequate ventilation. Some HFCs are flammable. Some are not. It depends on the hydrogen/fluorine ratio. Their type and amount will also affect how susceptible the methanol is to a spark.

Subject: [TN] Are these substances OK for use in electronics

Dear Technos,

I've got one for the chemists: a customer of ours requests us to clean
their boards with 2 spray canned products. Here's the stuff that's
inside of them:

1,1,1,2,3,4,4,5,5,5-Decafluoropentane

Trans,1,2-Dichloroethylene

Methanol

Nitromethane

1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane

Are they safe for the product? What about the production personnel and
the environment?

Thanks,

Ioan
