Hi Dewey;
Before you leap a tall building in a single bound here is another use of the 
word skived.  Skived is a term used in flex circuits fabrication to define 
how to clear covercoat and adhesive squeeze out of the pads a so that the 
pad will take solder. You skive the pads.
