Steve,
Suppose you got a small shop and a NC with a high speed diamond drill chuck.
Then just take a round POM bar or like, cut into discs, take connector
drawing data and put into NC register, and alas...spit out so many you
want..if you don't have pin positions, a friend with an optical measure
machine will give you data in five minutes..

Ämne: [TN] Circular Mil Connector Installation Problem...

Hi All!

I've got some ladies in our slide operation wanting to take some of us
engineers out to be drawn and quartered because we're asking them to
install a mil connector into an assembly without alignment disks. If any
of you have worked with these connectors, you know what I'm talking
about.

Here's a picture of a connector with an alignment disk:

And here's the one that has the blood shooting out the eyes of the
ladies on our slide line:

These connectors did not come with alignment disks. As you can see,
they're from one of the few companies that make these connectors. So I
called them and asked them to quote me what it would cost for the
alignment disks for these connectors, and get this; $55.43 EACH (in
qty's of 50-999) with a 12-WEEK LEAD TIME! They do this because they
can...sheesh!

So, I'm wondering if any of you out there has a some trick or gizmo that
will aid in installing these connectors? By the way, the leads can't be
trimmed on a bias because the connector is stood off the board so high
that we just have lead protrusion...

Steve
