1 micron (40 microinches) of NiSn IMC is hard to believe. That is
much thicker than any NiSn IMC I've ever seen

That well could be. The penetration depth is only around 1 micron.

Vladimir

I have a hard time believing that at 10kV Werner,

I have a hard time believing that at 10kV acceleration potential that
they see only the SnNi IMC and very little of the SnPb solder behind the
IMC.

George

Hi George,
From my experience, what they seeing on the ball side is pretty much
SnNi IMC. What i find missing is any Au.
