Hi Dave,
For SAC solders the situation will be worse than with SnPb because of the
stiffer solder (modulus of elasticity about 40% higher) and much lower creep
rates. This has led to failure modes previously not seen and others, like RC
cracking worse than before, because much higher stresses result with the same
amount of strain.
