Ahhh, Fibonacci. One of my favorite mathematical phenomena.

1 1 2 3 5 8 13 etc...

each number is the sum of the two previous numbers, and the limit of the ratio
of two numbers as the series approaches infinity solves the equation

x^2 - x - 1 = 0

what is really interesting (at least to me, the consummate math geek) is that
if you define the series as follows

i(m) = i(m-j) +i(m-k) then the limit of the ratio as the series approaches
infinity solves the equation

x^j - x^k - 1 = 0

of course, if you're not a math geek like me, you've probably already stopped
reading.

Blair
