But Gaby doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of x-ray inspection being a non-destructive method?

Also, Vlad and are I are talking about hairline cracks that will give you intermittents, not huge honking cracks.

I can cheat too.
I can do a cross section of a single row, put it face down on the x-ray 
table and use maximum magnification.
I am pretty sure that a good X-ray equipment will show something.
But then- i can always use my microscope and get a much better picture.
