Ioan,

From the replies, all of the X-Ray machines out there are great. For my
money, I like the X-Tek (at previous company we bought one X-Tek, and then
bought a second and placed at our contract manufacturer). During
evaluation, I looked at Dage, Phoenix, Fein Focus, and X-Tek and all work
well.

I highly suggest spending a day on each machine so you can compare for
yourself (ease of use, image quality - both live and captured, analysis
tools, etc). Also, all of the manufacturers can give you contacts of
people who have their equipment. Give calls, ask questions.

Good luck.

Subject
[TN] X-Ray equipment

Dear Technos,

One more topic: what are your experiences with X-Ray equipment? Which
brand/model would you recommend or not advise?

We are a typical EMS and would like to inspect as accurately as possible
BGAs and leadless. So voids and hole-fill measuring capability is
desired. If possible, we would like to be able to localize an open BGA
joint.

Not exactly looking for big budget laminography machines like the 5DX,
but it should at least be 2D plus rotation capability. Or a regular, not
so loaded 3D system...

On-line and off-line answers welcome.

Thanks,

Ioan
